Hottest Classic Cars and Trucks from the 1990s

It is hard for those of us born in the last millennia to fathom that cars and trucks from the 1990s are now considered classic collectors.  It makes some of us feel old just saying it.  There is no denying, however, that there has been a lot of interest in collecting these cars lately.

Generation X and Millennials are one of the fastest growing groups of collectors when it comes to classic car investing.  They are dreaming of owning the cars they admired as kids, teens and young adults.  Now that they are in their 30s and 40s, they are able to make these dreams a reality.

The market is clearly showing an uptick in the young-buyer demographic.  Hagerty, the world leader in classic car insurance, has seen a steady rise in insurance policies for vehicles from the 1990s over recent years.  There is a definite uprise in interest of cars and trucks from the 1990s, but not all models from that decade were created equally.  There are definitely models that are much more coveted.

There are other reasons for the appeal of vehicles from the 90s.  Performance and reliability improvements in automobiles was quite significant from the 80s to the 90s.  These later model vehicles last much longer and can make for some great collectables that can also be driven regularly.  You don’t really need to worry as much about using and repairing them like you do with older model classic cars we are more familiar with like a 1969 Camaro or a 1957 Be Air.

In addition, classic car registration can be much cheaper than regular vehicle registration in many states.  There are people that are opting for the cheaper registration and using theses 90s cars as daily drivers.  We don’t think this is the main reason for the uptick in desire for these cars, but it is a portion of it.  Certainly, they are not the 90s vehicles that collectors are after as some of them, like the Toyota Supra, have far surpassed their original asking price and would not make good daily drivers financially.

The hottest 90s cars are definitely the coveted cars of the 90s that everyone is looking to add to their collections.  According to Hagerty, these are the best classic cars and trucks from the 90s to collect.  Some come from an increase in insurance policies and others are just their favorites.
