Ford Bronco in For a Restoration at Wilson Auto Repair

We love working on Broncos and actually specialize in restoring them.  We are always very excited to get our hands on them, especially first-generation Broncos from 1965-1977.

This Ford Bronco has come into our shop and we want to share the restoration process with our readers.  We have disassembled the Bronco and stripped the paint.  We then addressed issues like rust and previous work that needed to be re-done.

We are now assembling the Bronco back together and will be sure to share images of the finished restoration, but for now, please enjoy part one where we show you the processes it has gone through so far.

Here are some images of the Bronco when it arrived at Wilson Auto Repair.

Next, we disassembled it completely.

The next step was stripping the old paint off to see what lies underneath.

What we found was quite an extensive amount of rust.

The corrosion didn’t stop there.  We continued to find even more!

We also found that when previous work was done on this Bronco that all the new parts that were installed were fastened with screws…They should have been welded!

With our work cut out for us, we got to work fixing the rust and correcting previous installation issues.

That’s all for now but stay tuned and come back soon and we will have more of the restoration to share with you.  We are currently in the re-assembly phase and will have plenty of images to show.
