Classic Truck Restorations at Wilson Auto Repair in February 2021
If you live in Texas, you know that pickup trucks are kings of the road. Texas purchases more pickup trucks as daily drivers than any other state. In fact, more than one in four vehicles (26.91 percent) in Texas are pickup trucks.
It should come as no surprise that many of the restorations and repairs we perform at Wilson Auto Repair are on classic pickup trucks. Most are still classic car restorations and repairs, and we also get plenty of classic Ford Broncos and Jeeps coming through the shop as well, but there is just something about a classic pickup truck that screams Americana. We love being able to help restore and preserve them.
This month is no different and we have some fantastic classic trucks in the shop for full restorations. Enjoy the images of these works in progress.
First up is a big project. We are working on a 70s Ford Pickup. It will have a Ford Coyote Motor installed to help modernize the performance.
The rest of the truck we are working on are all getting bodywork done and getting ready for paint or the paintwork has already begun.
Here is a Chevy truck we are getting ready for paint. You can see we are welding material to the cowl to narrow the gap between the hood and cowl.
We have removed all the old paint from the pickup and are getting close to putting this truck into the paint booth.
We are also painting and restoring this Apache Chevy truck.
And lastly, here are some images of the paintwork that has begun on a GMC pickup restoration.
Like many of our project posts, you will need to check back to see the progress of these trucks and the final restorations. We can’t wait to be able to share those pics!
