Classic Cars That Are Hollywood Stars Are For Sale

auction

Lights, camera, action! Get ready to see some Hollywood stars get auctioned off this month starting on the 19thof April and concluding on the 27th. Over 300 vehicles that have starred in all types of motion pictures, commercials, and television shows will be up for auction.

All vehicles are being sold by Picture Car Warehouse in Northridge, CA. For two decades, Picture Car Warehouse has been supplying vehicles to the film and television industry. The company has a significant fleet of vehicles from police cars and emergency vehicles, to vintage trucks and motorcycles, to classic cars, muscle cars, hot-rods, period cars as well as many custom-built vehicles.

It is time for Picture Car Warehouse to refresh their inventory and make room for some new arrivals. That is where Tiger Group comes in. They will be hosting and managing the auction. Here is what Jeff Tanenbaum, President of Tiger Group’s Commercial & Industrial division had to say about the event.

“As Picture Car Warehouse makes room for new acquisitions, individuals, collectors and production companies can take advantage of this unique opportunity to purchase these exceptional vehicles associated with movies and other productions,” Jeff continued with, “It’s also a rare opportunity for the general public to purchase a car from their favorite movie or show.”

If interested, you can see all the auction event details at http://soldtiger.com/cgi-bin/mndetails.cgi?tigergrp264. Bidding will open online on August 19th at 3PM PST (according to the details on the Picture Car Warehouse website). The bidding will then close in a “live auction” on Saturday, August 27th.

Some of the more notable vehicles crossing the auction block are a 1940 Ford Tow Truck, a clean 1956 Desoto, a sweet 1966 “427” Corvette and even a 1965 Harley Davidson Chopper. In addition to these classics, plenty of muscle is up for grabs as well. A 1990 ZR-1 Corvette with only 75 original miles is available, a frame-off restored 1967 Chevelle SS is also in the lineup. There will be plenty of Camaros, Mustangs and Firebirds going to the highest bidder. They will be auctioning off spare parts too. Who knows? They may have that elusive part you have been looking for!

These vehicles come with some great back-stories as well. Many have appeared in motion pictures and television shows that included Rush Hour 3, Bucket List, Grindhouse, Taxi, The Runaways, The Town, Faster, Vampire Diaries, Sons of Anarchy, Entourage, Allstate, and Chevrolet commercials just to name a few. Not to mention the 188 vehicles they provided to the Fast & Furious franchise.

Other vehicles from the 70s through 2000s will also be sold to make room for new stuff. They will also be letting go of some one-of-a-kind, specialty vehicles as well. Ever want to get your hands on a 1961 Lincoln “Bud Light” Limo? Now is your chance! Resister online and you could soon be the new owner! Maybe pick up an ambulance or armored car while you are there.
