Classic Car Restoration

We look forward to visiting with you about restoring your car and sharing with you our experience working on over 6,000 cars. We recommend your first step in selecting a shop to restore your classic car is to visit the shops you are considering in order to help you better understand and evaluate them by seeing their process first-hand.

Restoring your classic car can take up to three years to accomplish. The term frame off restoration means that your car is totally disassembled down to the bare frame and all the parts are clean, restored or replaced, painted or powder coated and reinstalled. Restoration is a long-term commitment. It is a very expensive undertaking, and we recommend you give serious consideration to a project of this nature.

To enjoy having your classic car restored, it is important that you have an understanding of how cars are built. If you are a novice, you may become less focused on the project and overwhelmed by the total expense. You may find that you can buy a car already restored or partially restored for much less than it will cost to restore your classic car.

Our customers who decide to restore their classic cars usually have a history with their car. They have owned it since it was new, have owned it for many years, or it has been in the family for a long time. Their car means too much to them for them to be satisfied buying a similar vehicle.

We require that you sign our document describing our process of working together. A deposit is required and payments are collected each Friday for work that has been accomplished that week. We want you to inspect our work before making a payment.

Our estimates are exactly that, estimates and, quite frankly, you should expect to pay more than the estimate. We inspect every part of your car and recondition it as we reassemble it. As we find other areas that need repair, the price of the restoration can increase since it is not possible to anticipate everything that will need to be replaced or repaired. Rust repair and fabrication of metal can increase your starting estimate by 40%. Custom work can add another 20%.

To get the greatest joy from watching your car come back to life, be sure this is a project of great interest to you and one that you can afford.
