Jensen Named President of Classic Car Club of America

The Classic Car Club of America (CCCA) has elected a new President.  On April 12th in Branson, Missouri, the CCCA held its 65th annual meeting where Carrol Jensen was elected.

Jensen has many years as a vice-president of a major health insurance company and has also been on the CCCA national Board of Directors for seven years.  Her professional experience makes her the perfect candidate to lead the CCCA into the future.  And at only 52 years of age, Jenson helps to embody the growing younger demographic in the organization.

Jensen will be the third female president of the CCCA and when asked about this accomplishment, Jensen replied, “While I’m proud to represent the significant number of female CCCA members and car collectors, it’s more relative that I’m among the large portion of active members in the younger demographic becoming more engaged in ownership of these fabulous cars.”

The Executive Director of the CCCA, Jay Quail, added “Carrol brings to the CCCA a youthful and forward-thinking perspective that is spot on our needs as we grow and prepare this Club for future generations to adopt.”

From the headquarters in Schiller Park, a suburb of Chicago, Jensen plans to help the CCCA to further the restoration, preservation and enjoyment of distinctive motorcars produced in the period from 1915 to 1948.  Currently the CCCA is represented in 20 countries and represented by 29 regions within the United States.

Jensen was questioned about the future of the collector car hobby and she earnestly responded… “We are engaging enthusiasts and introducing younger generations to the Full Classics through hands on education that will in turn cultivate the interest and excitement on an ongoing basis. I believe we have a responsibility to these pieces of history, as we are only the caretakers for the next generation.”

About the Classic Car Club of America

The Classic Car Club of America (CCCA) is an organization founded in 1952 to celebrate the grand automobiles of the prewar period.  From the beginning, CCCA members have had an unwavering devotion to the collection, preservation and enjoyment of the world’s finest automobiles manufactured from 1915 to 1948.

The organization still has the same focus today that it did in the beginning.  The wealth of technical and historical information that it shares with its members is like no other organization out there.  It is with great honor that the CCCA holds Grand Classic car shows, CARavan driving tours and published The Classic Car magazine.

There is a very distinct list of what is considered a Full Classic by the CCCA.  Generally, a Classic was high-priced when new and was built in limited quantities. Other factors, including engine displacement, custom coachwork and luxury accessories, such as power brakes, power clutch, and “one-shot” or automatic lubrication systems, help determine whether a car is considered a Classic.  It is a very prestigious list indeed.
