1979 Pontiac Trans Am Partial Restoration

An overall partial restoration. Our Classic Car Mechanincs started by removing the 403 Oldsmobile engine and 400 Turbo Auto Matic Transmission

The engine was rebuilt. Edlebrock heads were installed and the engine was dyno'd at 375 Horse Power.

The automatic transmission was rebuilt and this completed the power train restoration.

79 Trans Am Frame and Firewall Restoration

The sub frame was removed, sand blasted and then powder coated gloss black. The inner fenders were sand blasted and coated with fresh paint.

To improve the look of the firewall, it was flattened with a sheet of 16ga sheet metal and then attached over the old firewall. Body work and primer along with gloss paint improved the firewall immensely.

New Front and Rear Suspension by Hotchkis

The front control arms upper and lower were replaced with new powder coated Hotchkis suspension, along with new coil springs.

The rear control arms were replaced with new Hotchkis upper and lower control arms and new coil springs.

The ride height dropped by an inch and the ride was improved beyoud belief.

The steering linkage manufactured by Hotchkis was installed along with a new steering gear box.

79 Trans Am Undercoating

The underside of the 1979 Pontiac Trans Am was cleaned by hand and then painted with POR Paint. Gloss black was the color and because of the great condition of the floor pans the underside of this car turned out fantastic.
